Bacchae will be using a Free-Formed based system for their power structure. We are altering a few things in accordance with the newer structure of New Olympus. While in times past, the Bacchae were not determined on generation levels from Bacchus, we have found it necessary to add this element into the formula for determining blood points for the characters.
How does one become a Bacchae? Well all Bacchae were female characters. This is true to the TV- Series Xena Warrior Princess and Hercules the Legendary Journeys. This is where we derive most of our information from the Bacchae. First the Bacchae must bite and draw blood from the mortal, that he/she wishes to turn to a Bacchae. Within a short time (usually within 5 minutes) the mortal will transform into the image of a Bacchae. This is only half complete. She will need to drink the blood of Bacchus himself in order to fully transform her. If Bacchus Himself is not available for this part of the ritual, the queen of the Bacchae will offer his bloodwyne which will work just as well. While the ritual is usually done under the light of a Bacchae full moon, it may be done anytime, so long as its nightfall. Her generation will be determined by the one who has bitten her, not from Bacchus himself. So in other words, if your bitten by a 3rd generation Bacchae, you become a 4th generation of Bacchae.
What are Blood Points? Blood points are the energy pool the Bacchae pulls from in order to caste their powers. They have a select amount Blood points and can gain 2 points back per hour or a MAX of 12 points back per day. The following is a chart of the total allowed Blood Points per generation.
Queen – 40
Second Generation – 30
Third Generation – 25
Fourth Generation – 22
Fifth Generation – 20
Sixth Generation – 15
Seventh Generation – 10
How does a character rise generation levels? Well there is the common theory that killing a vampire from a level above them, will allow them to gain to their level. However realistically this will end up with your character being killed by Bacchus himself. Therefore the Queen has the power to raise your character a generation level at a time, by her choice and merits performed by the Bacchae. The Queen may chose her next in command, so that if something happens to the Queen, her next in command would take her place. The Second in command must be a Second generation Bacchae at the time.
Please note, if a woman is bitten by a bacchae and she does not drink the blood or bloodyne of Bacchus within 24 hours, she will become blood doll for the bacchae (Namely the one who bit her). The same can be done for males as well. Males can never become bacchae, but they can become pets.
Bacchae Powers
• Note the number at the end of the power represents the total number of blood points needed to use the power. If no number is listed, then it’s assumed it only cost 1 blood point to use.
Elemental powers
– Please note that Bacchae are immune to lightning. Lightning bolts simply would recharge the Bacchae and not deal any damaged points. Fire however, they are completely vulnerable to, just like any other vampire.
Power of Bacchus – The Bacchae may call upon this power in order to draw the clouds over the skies. Although the Bacchae is not as vulnerable to sunlight as other vampires, if she were in direct sunlight it could ultimate destroy her. This will allow the Bacchae enough of a cover to flee to the Bacchae forests and to the cave of the Bacchae. The Bacchae may also use this power to generate complete darkness in the night, by covering up the moon and stars. (1)
Lightning bolt – This allows the Bacchae the power to generate a lightning bolt out of the skies or if she so chooses out of her hand into the targeted choice. (2)
Lightning Barrage – This allows the Bacchae to generate around their victim a lightning barrage that spits out a lightning bolt every couple of seconds. The cycle continues until their victim is destroyed or until countered. (4)
Ball of energy – This power generates within a ball of energy, usually about the size of a basketball that can be shifted into any living or non-living being. Once it is in its desired location, the energy ball may be released, causing for an internal explosion. (5)
Blood Powers
Blood poison – a basic power that will allow for a blood poisoning to take effect of her victim. The power slowly filters through their bloodstream until they are severely ill. The power itself while nasty, is not a killing power. If however your victim was already ill or severely weakened, this power could kill off the victim, if they are unable to find a counter. (1)
Taste of Vital – This power allows the Bacchae to “feel the bloodline” as it were of their targeted victim. They can use Taste of Vital to use a selected power of their victim as if it is their own to caste it. For example, if their victim can use the power “True Seeing”, then the Bacchae could caste the power as their own, but using the victims energy pool. (2)
Energy Drain – The target becomes severely weakened within one round of combat, via the energy drain. Usually within 3 complete rounds the energy drain leaves their victims completely out of energy. This energy is transported to the Bacchae for use (allowing her to gain 4 blood points back per round) (4)
Razor’s edge – This manipulates the blood pressure points in your victim, causing their blood vessels to rupture. Blood will begin pouring out of their ears, mouth, noise and any other available opening (such as their eyes). Note also because of the extreme measures of pain, reaction to such a power would be severely limited. (5)
Powers of Defense
Fast Movements – the power natural to the Bacchae, and costs no blood points to use. It allows the Bacchae to speed her movements up to 5 times normal human speed. She may use this to flee to safety or to sneak upon her victim. Fast movements does count as an action In combat!
Bacchae shield – The Bacchae can create a shield out of pure chaos energy. This energy forges as a physical barrier around the Bacchae, making weapons for the most part useless. They strike on an Chaos sphere level, and does not manipulate the physical being that is the Bacchae behind it. Magic powers against the Bacchae that require ranged or direct eye contact will fail, as they will take place in the Chaos sphere and not on the primal grounds of Olympus. The shield only lasts for one round of combat, and may only be used once per day. (2)
Bacchae Mind Shield – The power allows the mind of the Bacchae to be protected from outside mental communications or powers that effect the mind. (2)
Bacchae Circle – (please note that the power has changed from the original days of new Olympus). The Bacchae circle is an area that the Bacchae creates that works as an Anti-Magic field. Within the Bacchae circle, neither the victim, nor the Bacchae have access to their power supplies and must rely either on hand to hand combat, or weapons of some sort. Please note, any special enchantments, or artifacts lose their abilities as well within the Bacchae circle. The circle is a 25 foot radius around the Bacchae, at the time they caste it. The circle can be destroy, but only from outside the 25 foot radius. The circle itself, will self destruct after two rounds of combat and the Bacchae can only raise one of these per day. (3)
Powers of the mind
Mind Talk – This power allows the Bacchae to speak into the mind of their targeted person of interest. Please note that mind shields would block such attempts to speak to the mind. (1)
Bacchae illusions – The Bacchae can flood the mind of her victim with images of horror, or of pleasure. The images appear to take on their own form of life within the mind of their victim, appearing to be real, moving images (much like a phantom). (2)
Necromancy
Death Watch – This power allows one to detect how close to death someone is. They must be within eye contact for the power to work properly. (1)
Freeze Undead – This power halts any undead forces (Vampires, etc.) in their spot. The power is most successful when used against a lesser being. (For example, the Bacchae may use this power against a lesser of her own, the second generation Bacchae could use this against any Bacchae from a 3rd generation level and higher) (2)
Bone Dagger – Creates a dagger of Necromantic energy. Direct hits, not only deals physical damage, but also drains away their life force. Consider three direct hits enough to kill most beings. (3)
Wind of Death – A dark Necropolis wind circles about your victim causing life force damage. Ultimately one would end up death within a couple of rounds if not countered somehow. The dark energy weakens the victim during this process as well so the longer they are caught in it; the less likely there would be room for escape. (5)
Necro Flux – By making contact with the ground, a Necromantic flux in the form of a gel will spread upon the surface of the ground, covering 50 yards in radius around them. Anyone caught in this will suffer an instant 50% drop in life-force, and will be dead by the next round if not countered. The energy loss will be great, so it would be very difficult to counter once in it. (6)
Exotic Powers
Seduction – This power raises the level of charisma of the Bacchae, allowing her to seduce her victim. This may be used to charm the mortal women, into taking the bite of the Bacchae, in order to create a Bacchae. (1)
Orgasm – This power will generate within the chosen being an orgasmic climax. Often this is done during feeding to bring pleasure to the one offering their blood as a gift. However they may use this power to generate an orgasm in their target without ever touching them. (2)
Orgy – The Bacchae, under the right circumstances can heighten everyone’s sexual intensity, whereby created an orgy. This is most commonly done during parties, or set events (such as the Bacchae full moon, bringing in the new Bacchae.).
